NON-PUBLIC SCHOOL SERVICES

Non-Public SchoolsSince the passage of the local community property tax I CARE has been committed to servicing all schools including the non-public schools. Non-Public school servicing is also required by Federal law "No Child Left Behind" (NCLF) mandate. These non-public schools are offered assistance from a board certified prevention specialist assigned only to these schools in planning their prevention programming.

The specialist serving the non-public schools also enjoys the benefits of participating on a team and serving on several committees from which he/she receives support, networking and the professional exchange of ideas and resources. We are available as a resource in assessing need, planning the programs, conducting or arranging for the trainings necessary for the implementation of the programs, some assistance with funding of the science-based programs and evaluation of the programs.

Other services include the offer of in-services for staff, materials, participation in special programs (such as TeamSpirit) and parental trainings and workshops designed to increase and provide a variety of opportunites for parent involvement. There are currently 42 non-public schools that are eligible and choose to receive services for the Safe and Drug-free Schools Program, Title IV/I CARE Program.
